reflecting on the CAT trip

1. I had not heard about CAT before.

2. Please give your thoughts on the 3x most notable points raised in the sustainability lecture on site.
- I had never relies the effect cattle has on our environment – eg the space they take up which we could be using for producing other sustainable materials for energy.
- Quote that stood out to me 'If we can't imagine a healthy further, we can't create one'
- The eco effectiveness of a materiel is not just that it can be recycled, but the energy it takes to make, and transport.

3. Please give your thoughts on the 3x most notable things picked-up while at CAT
- An innovative use of materials – such as compacted soil and clay to make a wall, encouraged me to challenge the convectional use of materials
- I found interesting the ‘bug houses’ in the wall, this encourages me to think broader in forms of secondary solutions.
- They don’t hide their mistake, but keep them as a reminder, showing their paths, what they have tried and what they learn from it.

4. Now you've had time to reflect, what 3x things gained from the CAT visit might you bring forward into your ideas?
- A lot of there buildings were made from wood – would it be possible to the paint pot to be made from this material
- I need to look at material, and see if ones can be molded, rather than relying on something that is almost ready made

- I need to think about the cost, and energy it take to make, as well as the material itself.
